Rate Discount Program for Low Income Seniors and Disabled Persons
North City Water District offers a discount program for low income seniors and disabled persons—with the bi-monthly Fixed Charge Single Family rate discounted by 50%, regardless of meter size (actual water usage will be billed at the regular step rate amount). Minimum qualifications include:
- Total household income does not exceed $75,000 per year
- Seniors must be age 61 or older
Disabled persons must also be currently receiving disability benefits from one or more of the following:
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
- Veteran Disability Compensation (VDC)
- Non-Grant Medical Assistance (NGMA)
- Permanent disability insurance benefits
- State permanent disability benefits
