Shoreline Water District is currently undertaking an artistic endeavor: painting the “bonnets” on our area’s fire hydrants.

Color Code:

• Green hydrant bonnets indicate the hydrant is connected to an 8” water main
• Orange hydrant bonnets represent a 6” main
• Red hydrant bonnets indicate a 4” main

Our goal in this effort is to help firefighters rapidly identify which hydrant is best to connect to, in the event of a fire.
