Office Building Valve Fails, Operations Continue

As a Special Purpose District, we make a point of replacing old water pipes, valves, and related equipment throughout our system long before an emergency ever takes place.

So you can imagine our surprise when we came in over the weekend a couple weeks ago to find the south and east rooms of our building flooded. Oh the irony…!

Those of you who have visited our facility have seen the water feature in the main lobby. Apparently a valve on the fountain broke during the weekend of October 11. (Don’t emergencies always seem to happen when you’re away?)

In order to get everything dried out and repaired, we’ve set up temporary operations in our main meeting / board room… with board meetings held in the lobby. The best part? Watching how well our staff has rallied during this unusual experience, with all of us working together in one large shared space. Not only has it been both encouraging and invigorating to see how smoothly we can function in an emergency situation, but it’s been an excellent boost to our senses of humor.

Yes, we are still open for business, we are just not accepting walk in customers so that we can maintain public safety while the contractors are completing the necessary repairs (all covered by our insurance company, Enduris).

With a little luck, and contractors finishing on schedule, we anticipate reopening our office on Tuesday, November 4!
