37th and 38th Avenue NE Water Main Replacement

North City Water District maintenance crew repairing a water main break on 37th Avenue in 2024
This project will replace an existing 6” cast iron water line that was installed in the 1950s. In recent years, it has caused more than a few late-night water main breaks for our maintenance crew, along with the resulting service interruptions to local residents.
The scope of work will include installing 2,160 feet of new 8” ductile iron (DI) pipe, reestablishing existing water services, and replacing the affected fire hydrants and other appurtenances. When complete, the asphalt will be patched, planed, and have the required overlay applied. Curb ramps and sewer manhole frames will be replaced.
All work is located within the City of Lake Forest Park’s existing Right of Way in both 37th Avenue NE and 38th Avenue NE, between NE 162nd Street and NE 165th Street.
